Begining Quebec's Gaspé Penninsula

Yesterday 68 miles ...TAH DAH! What slow pokes we are.

It's 8:30 am &

Still haven't left the L'Islett Municipal Campground  because the WI FI is so great that I'm using it to TRY to catch up on my blog as Joey has taken the camera out to the pier again for more photos.

Destination today Rimouski, QC.

BUT we'll hang out here as long as possible so we'll get a late start about 11 am. That's actually sort of normal for us. We hate to rush and it's rarely necessary anyway.
We finally left  the Municipal Camp as late as possible. Their required check out time  @ 11:30.

We DID made it to Rimouski, Quebec driving 137 miles today.
(well, at least it's better than yesterday's 68 miles!)
Maybe you can see Quebec, the city, in the lower left of the map
Rimouski is just at the beginning of the Gaspé Peninsula.
On the map here the peninsula shows up really well.

Tonight we pulled into a Walmart in Rimouski
This was our first night to boondock on the trip.
(that means no plug-ins, no hook-ups, a FREE spot)  That's been a rarity on THIS trip.
We haven't been able to boondock because of the hot nights until now.
Prior to tonight we really needed our A/C to be comfortable.
We SURELY are spoiled people and lucky to be so. As Joey likes to say; "Lucky Lager"!

There were many other RVers "camped" in the same Walmart parking lot. (see movie above)

There in the parking lot we met Joann & Ron Ebert from Wisconsin.
They have just come from the Gaspé Penninsula, QC & that's where we're going.

We had some wine & snacks in their HUGE rig. (This photo, however, is in OUR rig)
He says they even have a "garage" in theirs where they keep their motor cycle as well as all of their found "treasures" from their trip.
They are "Pickers" & sell things at flea markets so we had lots of fun being shown all of their newly found treasures!

They gave us some tips and brochures for one of our next stops in Canada. They loved the  camp Ft Ramsey Motel & RV camp . They also gave us some tips about places further on in our trip, Cape Breton, NS .
