I almost forgot.....

BURNHAM STATE PARK Cape Vincent NY
It's  just south of 1000 Islands NY

Elect only, no WI FI, no water @ site but very pretty….on the waterway, lots of trees & well groomed grassy sites.

We helped another couple w/trailer preparing for a disaster and I mean DISASTER!
I wish I'd taken photos on this happening.

Joey & I were sitting @ our picnic table & saw a new arrival towing a travel trailer.
Longer than our 18 footer.
It turns out that theirs was 24 feet & this was their first trip….Yeah we knew THAT before they told us.

We always love watching other couples struggle & fight (sometimes) while backing into a camping space.
Thinking we might learn something & often do.
 THAT'S an ongoing process; learning.
The sites in this park are on rolling hills. Beautiful.

As we watched this couple "setting up", disconnecting etc we saw their trailer sliding extremely slowly backwards ready to roll right into a big tent just a bit downhill at the next site.
They were able to stop it when the wife realized what was  happening, grabbed the chocks in just in time to place them behind the wheels of the trailer & stop it!

But that wasn't the end of the story.

We continued to watch and saw that the trailer had been disconnected from the truck not only before the chocks had been placed but also BEFORE being made level.
It wasn't even close to level in TWO directions!!!
It reminded me Lucy & Desi in THE LONG LONG TRAILER film BUT we weren't laughing this time. We kept saying OMG OMG OMG….we didn't wish to be stick our noses in & intrude but it finally got to a point where we decided to take our drinks in hand & just walk over there & play it by ear & hopefully help.

The first thing I said to the wife was "Do you need any help?"  She almost passed out with her  yes yes yeses.
Bottom line we were able to get them re connected to the truck so they could level up & we gave a few tips & important things to remember. (Who wudda thunk?)

It turns out her husband is almost completely deaf. An ex biker, macho guy. I was afraid that he'd not accept help….ya know? But he really did & seemed to be grateful for it.

THEIR communication was, well, tough to say the least so we mostly gave HER the rules & tips & used lots of sign language with him including some shouting as other campers looked on.
It was Quite a show for all.

It's a shame that  we were just too busy to take any photos running back & forth from their trailer axels area to the truck, shouting, using whatever means possible to communicate with the hearing impaired husband.
Oh, well, can't win 'em all!

Joey & I are still wondering how they heck the did in getting out of there without hurting themselves or someone else.
Joey & I were just overnighters & they were going to stay for a week.
