On to Peggy's Cove

We were so anxious to get to the famous Peggy's Cove that we bypassed   Halifax for now & went directly to;
Wayside RV Park (4 miles from Peggy's cove)
 We really liked this campground, not only because it was so close to Peggy's Cove but it had great Wi Fi (well, depending on the site)
but it was also a Passport America campground. (Meaning 50% off )
We met a lovely family there & are still in touch via email. They live in Halifax only about 40 miles away.

It was raining off and on when we arrived but it stopped long enough for us to go through our set-up procedure & disconnect without getting wet.
It was still daylight when we finished & couldn't to wait to get to Peggy's Cove, raining or not.
We wished  to at least take a quick drive around the area so that's exactly what we did.

En route there was a pull-off  with a nice parking area with a pathway off onto long flat-rocks & between boulders.
 It had stopped raining again so we decided to check it out.
It turned out to be a beautiful area that was a memorial site for  the
Swiss Air flight 111 disaster that happened 5  miles off land in 1998.

After the Swiss Air stopover we DID continue into Peggy's Cove lighthouse area but didn't hike around.....That's for tomorrow & a few more days.
